There seems to be no end to bad news in the information technology (IT) sector. The latest is the over 32% plunge in the enterprise solution major SAP’s licence revenue in the fourth quarter to €418 million against €622 million a year ago.

This will hit SAP package implementation income of Indian technical  companies, which earn a significant portion of their revenue from this service line.

In the quarter to the end of March 2009,  Wipro generated 12.8% of its total revenues of Rs 4,932 crore from software package implementation. The service line had seen the highest jump, at 19%. It was followed by software testing, that grew 15%.
